Our church holds a special place in the hearts of its community, thanks to the visionary efforts of its esteemed founder,\u00a0 L.L H.G. Geevarghese Mar Gregorios Vayaliparambil. Since its establishment in 1962, the church has undergone significant growth and development, driven by a commitment to meet the spiritual needs of its parishioners and contribute to the community’s well-being. Let us delve into the remarkable journey of this church and its ongoing impact.
In 1962, despite the limited industrial growth at the time, L.L\u00a0 H.G. Geevarghese Mar Gregorios Vayaliparambil recognized the potential of the area and decided to establish the church. With the support of ten families, the church’s initial services were held in a small hut made of coconut leaves and sheets, using reusable materials from neighboring churches.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The church’s congregation steadily grew over the years, reflecting the deepening roots of faith in the community. Within a year, a new church building was erected through the combined efforts of His Grace and two devoted parishioner families. In May 1963, the first Holy Qurbana was held, marking an important milestone in the church’s history.
The church faced challenges when the government acquired nearby land for industrial purposes. However, a special agreement allowed the church to maintain its independence and continue worshiping. This exemplifies the strong commitment and cooperation between the church management and the government.
In the new millennium, the membership of our church witnessed significant growth, surpassing the capacity of the existing church to accommodate everyone during service. This need was identified, and the foundation stone for the new church was laid on April 16, 2003, by  L.L H.G Poulose Mar Pachomios (Metropolitan, Angamaly Diocese). The renovated church was consecrated on November 27, 2004,  by  L.L H.H Baselios Marthoma Mathews II, Malankara Metropolitan & Catholicos of the East. H.G Poulose Mar Pachomios (Metropolitan, Angamaly DIocese), H.G Zacharias Mar Anthonios (Metropolitan, Kochi Diocese), H.G Dr Mathews Mar Severios (Metropolitan, Kandanad West Diocese)  were co-celebrants of the church consecration.
The construction of the church was made possible through the generous contributions of our devoted members, who selflessly donated over 50 lakh rupees. Their unwavering support and financial dedication exemplify the strong sense of unity and commitment within our church community.
The church’s 25th and 50th-year anniversaries, known as the Silver Jubilee and Golden Jubilee, respectively, were significant moments in its history . These celebrations were marked by a series of events organized by dedicated committees, aiming to engage the church community and extend support to those in need.
Throughout its existence, St. George Orthodox Church has remained steadfast in its commitment to charitable endeavors and spiritual growth. Various organizations within the church actively contribute to community welfare and support their members. The Sunday school has consistently ranked among the top three in the Angamaly Diocese, and prayer units have expanded to five.
With the increasing number of families, the church underwent renovations and expansions to accommodate its growing needs. Today, approximately 250 families are members of the parish. St. George Orthodox Church stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of faith, growth, and community. Its founder’s vision, coupled with the unwavering dedication of its members, has shaped the church into a thriving center of worship and service.
